Captain John Ringseis and
Chef/1st mate Lynn Ringseis

John and Lynn's love of sailing and entertaining led them to pursue a career in the sailing charter yacht industry.  They worked for a large international charter company for over 3 years, operating a  50' Jeanneau and a 45' Leaopard catamaran in the British Virgin Isalnds, St. Martin, St. Lucia and Grenada.

In June, 2003, they commissioned a 41'Lagoon catamaran from the factory in Les Sables d'Olonne, France.  They sailed her along the coast of France, Spain and Portugal to the Canary Islands.   They continued across the Atlantic to the Caribbean.  The boat was named "Moonshine" and they ran a successful private charter business in the British Virgin Islands for five years.

Being adventurous by nature, they have a strong desire to explore the world and would like to share their expertise in operating yachts.  John and Lynn are now available as freelance crew, and look forward to being your personal guides.

Captain John
, a native Californian was born and raised in San Francisco.  His love of boating started at age 8, aboard his grandfather's home built vessel.  He has owned and operated both sail and power boats since his early teens.  In 1990 he sailed his 30' Catalina from San Francisco to Mexico, spending three years exploring the western coast of Mexico as well as Baja.  In 1992 he left the corporate world and traded in his business suits for bathing suits.

John holds a U.S. Coast Guard 100 ton Captain's license.  He is very happy to share his knowledge of sailing and seamanship with anyone who desires to learn.  John's quick sense of humor and warm personality makes first time sailors feel at ease.  In addition to being a skilled Captain, come happy hour, he's a wizard at preparing "Captain's Cocktails"!

Chef/1st mate Lynn, also a native Californian, hails from the San Diego area.  She began her sailing career in 1983 when she crewed on a yacht from France across the Atlantic to Martinique.  Having traveled extensively, her cuisine is inspired by journeys through Africa, South East Asia, Europe, South America, Mexico, New Zealand, Australia and throughout the Eastern Caribbean.

Lynn holds a degree in Travel and Tourism and has worked in the hospitality industry in many aspects, including chef for a catering company, events coordinator, hotel management, travel agent, airline representative and working for a winery in Sonoma Valley.

With your preferences in mind, Lynn will prepare menus to tempt the most discerning palate.  Please see Lynn's Sample Menus.  Besides having a love of cooking and entertaining, Lynn's other interests include snorkeling, marine biology, kayaking, running, hiking, mountain biking, writing, photography and watercolor painting.
